A youth from Bansai-Cacora was arrested by Collem
police on Saturday evening, on charges of carrying
gutkha worth Rs 25,000 at the Mollem check post.
According to Collem police, Irrayya Mallaya Hiremath
(28) was traveling in a bus from Belgaum to Goa
carrying four bags of various brands of gutkha.
The gutkha was seized at the Mollem check post and the
accused was booked under Section 87 a (1) of the Goa
Public Health Act.
PSI Praveen Gawas is investigating the case under the
supervision of PI Manoj Mardonkar.
