VASCO: The Mormugao police on Saturday arrested a 24-year-old Rahul Biradar, residing at GRB Colony, Sada, on the charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl at Verna.

Biradar was arrested following a complaint by victim’s father, who stated that the accused took his daughter near a school at Verna and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
He has also stated in his complaint that the accused had on different occasions allegedly sexually assaulted his minor daughter.
The Mormugao police have registered a case against Rahul Biradar under Sections 376 (2) (n) of IPC; Sections 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Section 3 (b), 4, 5 (I) and 6 of POCSO Act.
The accused was produced before the Vasco Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC). The JMFC remanded the alleged accused to six days police custody.
Further investigations are on under guidance of Mormugao PI Raghoba Kamat and DySP Salim Shaikh.
