Youth must tap opportunities in co-op sector for employment: Min

MARGAO: Stating there is extensive scope in the co-operative sector, Co-Operation Minister Subhash Shirodkar said that instead of running after the government jobs, the youth should tap the opportunities in the co-operative sector for employment. 

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Quepem Urban Multipurpose Co-Operative Credit Society’s 30th Foundation Day, here, on Sunday, Shirodkar said that there is an urgent need to give push and boost to the co-operative sector and to all those related to this field. 

“We need to focus on the co-operative sector more seriously, as it has lots of opportunities in generating employment. The mad rush for seeking the government jobs will definitely be reduced if able to create opportunities in the co-operative sector,” he stated. 

The Minister assured to work out the plans in this regard so that the people’s progress is witnessed through the co-operative movement. 

Social Welfare Minister and Vice-Chairman of Quepem Urban Multipurpose Co-Operative Credit Society Subhash Fal Dessai and Chairman of the society Prakash Velip also spoke.
