Arrangements for players practise made: Sandeep

Delay in building stadiums, multipurpose halls and grounds would also hamper the practise of players for the Games but Goa Badminton Association Secretary Sandeep Heble said, “Provisional arrangements for many of the sports disciplines have been done by the SAG in other centres such as Peddem, Bambolim and Quepem and our practise and training sessions are regularly being held there”.
“Some inconvenience will be there in terms of travelling which is natural but very shortly Goa will have stadiums of National and International quality which is a great boon to all the sportspersons and to the Associations also which can host high class events” he added.
“Despite some of the financial constraints, the Government, SAG and the Games committee are doing a good job and putting in extra efforts to ensure that the stadiums get completed at a rapid pace. They are keeping the Associations involved in the works, there have been joint inspections and we are reasonably satisfied with the progress of works.”
“Stadium works are expected to be completed by May 2019. Works are behind schedule a bit but this might be because the Games are postponed and there are no deadlines to be met”, he concluded.
