PANJIM: Panjim Dolphins scored an easy win over Goa Velha Saints 4-0 in the Vedanta Women’s Football League in Association with Goa Football Association held at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Sunday.
Karishma Shirodkar scored all the four goals for the winners.
Goa Velha started off well with good defending and managed to keep the opponent team Panjim Dolphins at bay for a while before Panjim Dolphin’s striker Karishma opened the scoring goal as she slotted the ball past Goalkeeper Astrid Pereira in the 12th minute.
Striker Karishma Shirodkar scored another goal in the 17 minute of the match easily. Two goals were shot within minutes making the crowd go wild.
After Panjim Dolphin defense against Goa Velha Saints player Karen Costa attempted a shot into the goal but shot it above the goal post.
Karishma continued her domination and made yet another attempt at the goal after she received a cross from M.Charmaine Furtado but he shot was saved by the rival keeper. Keenda Dsouza from Goa Velha Saints tried getting through Panjim Dolphins defense but failed at the goal as he shot went meters away from the goal.
Striker Ansiva Vaz from Goa Velha tried a long ranger but goalkeeper Candice Fernandes caught was on top of her game as she saved the ball to keep her sheets clean.
Karishma completed her hat-trick in the 30th minute making if really difficult for the Goa velha to get back on track, before the first-half.
Later, Karishma managed another wonderful goal withouf another assistance from the opponent directly shooting into the goal making it a wide margin beteern the two teams.
