ABC Arambol down Augustias SC

MAPUSA: ABC Arambol struggled before scoring a 3-2 win over Augustias Sporting Club in the GFA’s 3rd Division League-playoff match played at Duler Stadium, here on Monday.
At halftime the teams were tied at 1-1.
After a couple of failed chances by either side Arambol took the lead in the 29th minute when Manuel Rodrigues beautifully controlled Dietmar Fernandes pass and seeing the keeper off his line lobbed the ball home, 1-0.
Arambol Cyprian had a chance to further inflate the margin for his side however first his deep cross struck the Augustius woodwork and then his placing shot missed the target by a whisker.
Five minutes before the halftime whistle Augustius levelled terms when Ashvek Malgaonkar’s long range effort landed into the far corner of the Arambol goal, 1-1.
Changing end, Arambol were quick to take the lead when Cyprian set the ball on platter to Dietmar who fired home, 2-1.
Just six minutes into the second session and Arambol doubled their lead. A low cross by Cyprian to unmarked Dietmar Fernandes saw the latter connect it and score, 2-1.
In the 59th minute Arambol were reduced to ten men as their keeper Johnson Rodrigues was given marching orders by referee Sunil Nanodkar for handling the ball out of the 18-yard box.
Augustius took full advantage of the situation and levelled terms in the 64th minute through Mohamnad Nadaf who scored through a powerful right footer, 2-2.
The match winning goal was scored in the 84th minute through Manuel Rodrigues who netted from the penalty spot after Augustius Salel brought down Cyrian inside the 18-yard box.
