PANJIM: Agacaim Youth Club thrashed Amravati Sports Club 5-0 in their last match to top the Goa Football Association Division II League 2024-25 ILhas Zone at Santa Cruz ground, on Wednesday.
Agacaim Youth Club completely dominated the proceedings from the kick-off and Pratik Tirodkar, Vinayak Rane, Nikhil Gawade, Chandan Govekar and Valanko Miranda scored for the winners.
Rajat Chopdekar, Kenny Rodrigues, Aniket Agareadekar, Pratik Tirodkar played well in the defence, while Vinayak Rane, Deepak Saini and Aniket Naik controlled the midfield, while Chandan Govekar and Nikhil Gawade excelled upfront. For Amravati Sports Club, Rahul Chaudhuri, Mayur Bhagat and Pradeep Desai played good in the midfield.
With this win, Agacaim Youth Club topped the table standing with 28 points from their 10 league matches winning 9 and drawing one to remain the only unbeaten team in the league. Agacaim Youth Club now qualified for the play-offs for Division I promotion.
Portais Sporting Club, Panjim, finished runners-up with 18 points from 9 matches, winning six and losing three, with still one match in hand.
