MARGAO: St Aloysius High School, Benaulim, Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda and Manovikas Medium High School, Margao advanced into the second round of the Salcete Taluka Under-17 Girl’s Inter-School football tournament organized by Directorate and Sports and Youth Affairs at Carmel college ground, Nuvem.
In the first match, St Aloysious High School, Benaulim edged past Holy Spirit Institute, Margao, 1-0. Danlie Mascarenhas struck the match winner.
In the other match Our Lady of Rosary High School, Fatorda thumped St Francis Xavier High School, Macazana 4-0. The high light of the day was a brilliant brace by Anisha Araujao and Liva Colaco.
In the last match of the day Manovikas English Medium School, Margao overcame Rosary High School, Navelim. 1-0. Charmaine Furtado struck the all important goal.
