RAIA: Alpha Boys registered a dramatic win over Holy Cross, Vaddie 4-2, in a nail-biting tie-breaker after a goalless draw at the regular time in the semi-final to march into final of the inter-ward football tournament organised by Abuja FC, at Benaulim ground, on Thursday
The first half saw Alpha Boys gradually taking control of the game. Despite their dominance, Alpha Boys forwards squandered several clear opportunities, leaving the scoreline unchanged.
Holy Cross emerged from halftime with renewed vigour. However, the defensive duo of Osbourne and Deepak stood resolute, thwarting every attempt to breakthrough.
With regular time ending in a stalemate, the match proceeded to the dreaded tie-breaker. Alpha Boys displayed nerves of steel, with Enosh, Cayden, Deepak, and Osbourne all finding the back of the net. Holy Cross managed to convert only two of their penalties, courtesy of Maxwell and Elton.
Alpha Boys triumph propels them into the final, scheduled for June 8.
