RAIA: Ambelim 2 edged past CGC by a 3-2 margin in the Regina Martyrum Parish Cup 2023 inter-ward 5-a-side league-cum-knock out football tournament organised by Regina Martyrum Parish for the villagers of Assolna and Ambelim, at Assolna church ground, on Monday.
For Ambelim 2, Prinson Fernandes scored in the 8th and 12th minutes. Aron Fernandes scored two quick goals in the 20th and 22nd minutes to complete his brace and bring CGC back on the level terms.
However, Perryson scored the winner for Ambelim 2 in the 23rd minute.
Man-of-the-match was awarded to Prinson Fernandes of Ambelim 2. Ambelim 1 booked their place in the semi-finals from Group A with four points.
Earlier, in an exhibition match played between Assolna Youth and Cuncolim Youth, it was Cuncolim Youth, who prevailed over Assolna Youth by a margin of 3-0 goals. The goal scorers for Cuncolim were Cleron D’Sa, who scored in the 25th and 29th minutes and Hagan Diniz netted in the 28th minute. Manu Cardozo was the chief guest for match.
