RAIA: Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna, edged past SC Davorlim 6-5 via tie-breaker to emerge champions in the Gold Silver Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Monday.
Both the teams displayed a brand of football in front of approximately 6,000 spectators. Rossman Cruz took the lead through Syron Albuquerque on a spot-kick. Earlier, Sanju Trikonni of SC Davorlim and Andrews John of Rossman Cruz missed scoring chances.

Later, Reeve Costa equalised for SC Davorlim.
At the end of regulation time, the teams settled to a 1-1 draw. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Syron Albuquerque, Savio Fernandes, Hilton Fernandes, Savio Pereira and Sydon Albuquerque were on target for Rossman Cruz while Reeve D’Costa, Adarsh Raj, Jordon Miranda and Ajay Raj were the scorers for SC Davorlim.
Luizinho Faleiro, former chief minister of Goa was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Avertano Furtado, former Fisheries Minister and Fr Gabriel Coutinho, parish priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim.
