A training aircraft operated by private company Carver Aviation skidded while landing near the Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday, police said. The incident occurred at around 12.30 pm, with no casualties reported.
Pune Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill said the Cessna 172 aircraft skidded during landing. The plane, bearing registration VT-SEX, had two occupants, neither of whom reportedly suffered serious injuries.

Police are investigating whether the aircraft developed a technical snag or whether another issue led to the mishap. Officials said it was too early to comment on the cause.
The incident comes around seven months after former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and four others were killed when their Learjet 45 crashed during a landing attempt at the same Baramati airstrip.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau is expected to submit its final report into the earlier crash by January next year. The latest incident is also expected to be examined by the relevant authorities.
