MAPUSA: Anjuna Gymkhana Sports Club registered a 4-3 win via tie-breaker over Goan Warriors Sports Club to claim the GFA’s North Zone Boys U14 title played at Duler stadium here on Monday.
The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time where the results were finally decided via tiebreaker.
Goan Warriors surged ahead in the 41st minute where a through pass by Fati was collected by Zaid whose strike was blocked by the keeper and the ball travelled to Nakul who drilled his shot into the Anjuna goal, 1-0.
Anjuna should have equalized just six minutes later from a fine individual brilliancy from Zazir but he failed to beat the onrushing Goan Warrior keeper.
Another chance went a begging for Anjuna where a free kick by Nazir saw substitute Ulhas header missed the target narrowly.
Finally in the 66th minute a powerful volley by Floyd Nunes crashed into the back of the nylons 1-1.
In the tie-breaker for Anjuna colts Anthony, Ulhas and Maniskumar scored while for Goan Warriors only Karan and Zaid scored.
