MARGAO: Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club beat Betalbatim Sporting Club 4-3 via tiebreaker to sail into the quarterfinal of All Goa Fr Basilo Andrade memorial inter village football tournament organized by A.A.De Majorda at Musson ground, Majorda on Sunday. There was no score at full time.
Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club held the upper hand in the first half but their forwards were unable to find the target from ideal positions.
In the second half, Betalbatim Sporting Club were a transformed lot and out witted their rivals but their forwards faltered at crucial moments .
In the ensuing penalty shoot out, Rosney Fernandes, Fredric Endro, Agio Antao and Marian Rebello found the mark for Sao Jose de Areal while Malcolm Fernandes, Klinsman Pereira and Desmond Fernandes scored for Betalbatim Sporting Club.
