BENAULIM: Arlem Youth Association scored a comfortable 2-0 win on Sporting Club Davorlim to emerge champs of the 7th St Sebastian trophy inter-village football tournament organised by St Sebastian Union SC, Benaulim, at St John the Baptista ground, on Sunday.
Arlem dominated the match in both the sessions. Joyston Barbosa gave the lead to Arlem Youth Association in the 27th minute.
Lloyd Cardozo doubled the lead in the 37th minute for Arlem YA.
The winners were richer by Rs 40,000 & a trophy while Sporting Club Davorlim had to be content with a purse of Rs 30,000 plus trophy.
Churchill Alemao, MLA of Benaulim Constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Minguel Fernandes, Savio Alemao & Fr Andrew Mascarenhas, Menino de Bandar other dignitaries and club officials.
Individual prizes: First scorer of the final: Joyston Barbosa (Arlem Youth Association), best goalkeeper: Leo Colaco (Arlem Youth Association), best defender: Robinson Colaco (Sporting Club Davorlim), best forward of-the-final: Lloyd Cardozo (Arlem Youth Association), Man-of-the final: Socky Cardozo (Arlem Youth Association).
