CHINCHINIM: Assumpta Convent HS, Sarzora blanked Mount Mary’s HS, Chinchinim 2-0 in the final of the Mount Mary’s High School, Chinchinim football tournament dedicated to St. Joseph Vaz, played at Our Lady of Hope church ground, Chinichinim, recently.
It was Wayne Fernandes of Assumpta Convent who netted the first goal of the match with an arrow bond shot in the 23rd minute. After a minute the upcoming striker Chadel Fernandes’ power drive shot made it 2-0 for Assumpta.
The individual prizes awarded are as follows:
Best goalkeeper of final: Bevan Fernandes of Assumpta Convent HS,Sarzora; Best midfielder: Melroy Fernandes of Mount Mary HS, Chinchinim; Man of the Match: Chadel Fernandes of Assumpta Convent HS, Sarzora; First scorer of final: Wayne Fernandes of Assumpta Convent HS, Sarzora; Best defender Lesly Costa of Mount Mary’s HS, Chinchinim.
The winners were awarded Rs. 8,000 while the runners-up received Rs.5,000 plus trophies.
