PANJIM: Geno Pharmaceuticals Brand Ambassador Ameya Audi put up a spectacular performance in the 9th KIIT International GM Open Elite Chess Tournament held at Orissa, recently.
The young lad was in great form as he beat top seeded players Candidate Master Chowdhury Sohel (2183) of Bangladesh, shocked both Hirthickkesh Pr (2269) of Tamil Nadu and Debarshi Mukerjee (2227) of West Bengal in just 18 moves, he drew with International Master Murali Krishnan B T (2255) of Railways, Deshpande Aniruddha (2230) of Maharashtra and Vignesh B (2248) of Tamil Nadu.
Around 200 rated players from across the world participated.
While in the Mumbai Mayors GM Open International chess tournament, Ameya has some remarkable performances to his credit, as he shocked International Master B S Shivanand (2258) of Karnataka and Akash P C Iyer (2257) of Tamil Nadu.
Ameya who is a student of RMS College, Margao, will gain 117 ELOs from his performance.
