Augustias Sports Club of Pomburpa moved into the quarter-finals of 15th Muriel Faleiro memorial football tournament beating Cuncolim Union 1-0 at Nuvem church ground on Sunday.
Melwin Fernandes scored the all-important goal in the first half.
Cuncolim Union came back after the break with renewed vigour but the Pomburpa goalkeeper repulsed all their attacks. Once William Fernandes was unlucky as his try hit the post. Pomburpa almost consolidated the lead in the closing stages but Sonu Halankar shot wide.
