Datta Kambli secured the second place while Ameya Audi finished third in the open category. Shane Braganca, Aston Dias, Yash Prabhu, Gaurav Madkaikar, Saiesh Audi, Navin Morajkar, Rajat Vaskar, Suyan Belurkar and Milind Gauns claimed fourth to 12th place respectively.
Aditee Prabhugaonkar finished second while Aishwarya Thorat third in the girls section. Tanvi Hadkonkar, Sayani Kerkar, Sonali Kerkar, Gaayathri S. and Charuta Shetye secured the fourth to eight place respectively.
The consolation prizes were awarded to Kaushik Khedekar, Aniket Prabhu, Parth Desai, Yash Upadhye, Kaushal Naik, Divya Gaude and Divya Maujekar from Ponda taluka.
Kishor Bandekar, secretary, Goa Chess Association was the chief guest while Mitasha Aigal was the guest of honour for the prize distribution function.
Also present were Sagar Sakordekar, president; Amogh Namshiker, secretary, Ponda Taluka Chess Association; Chief Arbiter Sanjay Kavlekar, Gaurish Abhisheki, vice president and Sanjay Nadkarni, sports in-charge, Wagle High School Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee.
Sandip Pagi, Jayashree Madkaikar, Mahesh Khedekar, Datta Prabhu and Harshad Bhonsle took active part in organizing the tournament.
Earlier, Sagar Sakordekar welcomed and later Amogh Namshiker proposed a vote of thanks.
