NAVELIM: Bardez Veterans got the better of Fatorda Veterans 4-3 via the tie-breaker to emerge champions of the Navelim Veterans football tournament, played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
In the tie-breaker, Bardez proved to be better shooters The winners were awarded Rs 30,000 while runners-up had to be content with Rs 25,000.
Benjamin Silva was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners up in the presence of other dignitaries. Individual awards: First scorer of the final: Bruno Coutinho (Bardez); Best midfielder: Remmy Barretto (Fatorda); Best forward: Robin (Fatorda); Best defender: Mohan (Bardez); Best goalkeeper: Mario (Bardez).
