MAPUSA: In a friendly match played to commemorate the end of a grass surface at Duler Stadium, Bardez Veterans defeated Parra Veterans 3-2 at Duler Stadium, here, Friday. Bardez led 2-1 at the break.
It was Alexander Fernandes who opened the scoring for Bardez with a diving header after 24 minutes. At the other end, Hector Trinidade scored with a bicycle kick to equalise for Parra.
It didn’t take long for Bardez to regain their lead through Blasco Mascarenhas. After the break, Jude Fernandes further increased the lead for Bardez, before Mohan Toraskar reduced the margin for Parra.
In the dying minutes, Claudio Pacheco nearly came close to finding the equaliser for Parra, but he missed a sitter from close range.
