PANJIM: Goa Carbon brand ambassador WGM Bhakti Kulkarni and WIM Ivana Furtado pulled off spectacular victories over IM Vijaylakshmi Subbaraman (rating 2327) and defending champion WGM Mary Ann Gomes (rating 2355) respectively in the 10th round of National Premier Women Championship, being played at Sangli, Maharashtra, Tuesday.
WGM Bhakti Kulkarni moves up to fourth position with six points and WIM Ivana Furtado moved to the fifth position with six points.
WGM Padmini Rout becames the National Women Champion with one round to spare. She defeated Hinduja Reddy to tally an unassailable 8.5 points which assures her the championship as IM Nisha Mohota in the second position with seven points. The last round will be played on Wednesday.
