PANJIM: “National Women’s Champion Bhakti Kulkarni’s long wait for her gold medal ended when the Custom Department released Indian Chess Teams’ Gold medals. Bhakti had won all three games in the Olympiad.
Bhakti said that she is very proud as a Goan to win this medal for the country. The woman Grandmaster who has also competed among Men to be crowned as an International Master further added an Asian Gold to her ever increasing kitty when Indian team outclassed Indonesia in a one sided final at the Asian Nations Online Cup.

Goa State Chess Association President Nilesh Cabral and All India Chess Federation Treasurer Kishor Bandekar congratulated Bhakti when she received the medal.
Bhakti was Brand Ambassador for Goa Carbon Ltd. (A Dempo Group Company) till March 2020. “The Dempos have helped me reach this stage,” Bhakti acknowledged with gratitude.
Bhakti is now preparing online so that she will be ready for new challenges when the tournaments begin post-Covid era.
