VIRABHAT-CURTORIM: Bhatti defeated Ralloi 3-1 to move into semi-finals of the 5th Jose and Franky Memorial inter-ward football tournament, organised by Sporting Club of Virabhat (Curtorim) at St Alex Church ground, on Thursday.
Bhatti dominated the initial stages of the game. It was Tony Dias who netted for Bhatti with a placement shot in the 9th minute. Bhatti led 1-0 at the break as Ralloi hardly created any chances in the session..
In the second half, Bhatti doubled the lead through Jovi Dias in the 48th minute.
Two minutes later, Veron Fernandes made it 1-2 for Ralloi. A minute later, James Fernandes made it 3-1 for Bhatti. Ralloi tried their luck to get back in the game but they couldn’t get past the rival defenders.
Vernon Fernandes of Rallio was awarded man of the match award.
