PANJIM: Rajkumar Sanjay Biradkar won the Goa Tower Run 2015 in a time of nine minutes and 29 seconds, while Aditi Rajesh Patil of Mumbai took the women’s prize in 12 minutes and 47 seconds.
The Directorate of Fire Services bagged the Linc Properties Trophy for top Corporate Team, while Government College, Quepem, won the Linc Properties Trophy for top College Team. The Group Team prize was won by Vishwanath Shetye and Group from Vasco.
The event, held at Gera’s Imperium II at the city’s business hub of Patto Plaza, involved running up and down 840 steps over five seven-storeyed buildings. Around 90 individual runners and 25 teams of five runners each participated in the event, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Young Indians (Yi), which was conducted by adventure sports outfit Adventure Breaks.
The races were flagged off by Arjuna Awardee and former Captain of the India football team Bruno Coutinho. Cheryl Vaz and group did a Zoomba performance in between the individual and team events. All winners got medals. Individual winners also won cash prizes.
Prizes were distributed by Bruno Coutinho and CII Vice Chairperson (Goa) Parag Joshi in the presence of CII Chairperson (Goa) Kirit Maganlal, Yi Chair (Goa) Rajesh Salgaonker and CII Secretary (Goa) Gazal Bhambri.
