Bright start for engineering colleges

Padre Conceicao College of Engg, Don Bosco College of Engg and GEC move into next round

PANJIM: Goa’s three major engineering colleges -Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda (DBCE) and GEC Farmagudi, registered easy victories in their respective encounters in the Inter Collegiate football championship for men, organised by Goa University, at University ground, Taleigao Plateau on Thursday.
In the first match Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna defeated CES College, Cuncolim 3-0. 
Aavesh Tari opened the account for the Verna College in the 5th minute. Vally Vaz doubled the lead in 44th minute while Nikhil Dessai scored the third in the 47th minute.
In the second match, GEC Farmagudi defeated Goa College of Architecture (GCA) 3-1. Varun Vernakar, Lesley Carvalho and K N Belligau scored for GEC while Savan Lotlikar pulled one back for Architecture College.
In the third match, fine hat-tricks by Prestly Gomes and Jerry Vaz helped the Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda easily beat Ayurveda College 12-0. Kenneth Crasto scored brace while Walter Rebello, Salvin Fernandes, Cliston Carvalho and Frawyn Andrede were the other goal scorers for DBCE, Fatorda.
S.Caculo College, Mapusa defeated G R Kare College of Law, Margao 7-3.
Brijesh Naik and Dalesh Pednekar scored brace while Shashank Ashwakar, Izahar Khan and Arjun Shetgaonkar were the other goal scorers for the winners.  Mohan Desai scored brace and Ajinkya Gaonkar netted for the losers.
Gopal Gaonkar Multi Faculty college, Dhardandora defeated Mandre college, Pernem 5-0. Manaboob Jamadar score a hat-trick while Abdul Sheikh and Pascoal Mascarenhas were the other scorers
