CALANGUTE: Brothers in Arms, Pilerne beat Young Challengers of Nerul 5-2 to win the 1st Three Villages inter-ward football tournament organized by Rita Boys of Nerul at Verem ground, Verem.
Brothers in Arms got off to a good start scoring four quick goals through Royston Pereira (2), Agnelo Cardozo and Nicholas Fernandes to take a comfortable 4-0 lead at half time.

Changing over, Nerul got their act together and scored two goals through Prashant Khandeparkar.
Pio D’Souza drove the final into the Nerul coffin.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in presence of Sameer Naik, Mathew Gonsalves, Jayesh Salgaonkar, Sandeep Bandodkar, Shashikala Govekar, Subhash Pednekar and other dignitaries.
Individual prizes — Best player and first scorer of the finals: Royston Pereira (Brothers in Arms). Best defender: Ryan Pereira (Brothers in Arms). Best half: Yeshwant More (Nerul). Highest scorer: Moon Pereira (Brothers in Arms). Best goalkeeper: Nitin Khandeparkar (Nerul). Best forward: Pio D’Souza (Brothers in Arms). Up-coming player: Manish Govekar (Rita Boys).
