The winners were decided on penalties. Calangute proved to be better shooters outwitting Pilerne 4-3.
Allwyn D’Souza, Mario Lobo, Charlston Pereira and George Fernandes converted for the winners while Reagan, Ryan and Royston found the mark for Pilerne.
Joseph Sequeira was the chief guest and gave away the trophy to the winners in the presence of parish priest of Calangute, Fr Cipriano D’Silva; sarpanch of Calangute village panchayat Pascoala Fernandes; Arjuna Awardee Bruno Coutinho, Alber Gonsalves, Alex Fernandes and other dignitaries.
Individual prizes were awarded to Reagan Pereira of Pilerne (first scorer of the final) and Charlston Pereira of Calangute (Man-of-the-Match).
Fr Norbert D’Silva and Alber Gonsalves were felicitated at the hands of Bruno Coutinho for excelling at International level in football.
Earlier, in the exhibition football match between the Gonvlli and Xellio, Gonvlli scored a solitary goal victory over Xellio. Fr Doel Dias scored the all-important goal.
Sales Fernandes was the match referee while Rameena D’Souza compered.
