CALANGUTE, MARCH 24
The Calangute Panchayat Cup 2010 inter-village football tournament organised by Calangute Association gets underway at Poriat grounds, Calangute on Thursday, March 25.
The inaugural match will be between United Club of Nerul and Saligao Sporting Club. It will be kicked off by Sarpanch of Calangute, Laxman Palyekar Porob. All matches will kick-off at 4. 45 p.m.
The winners will be richer by Rs 20,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 15,000.
The other teams taking part in the tournament are Candolim Sports Club, Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, Raia Sports Club, Sao Minguel Taleigao, Goa Velha Sports Club, Friends XI Socorro-Vaddem, Navelim Sports Club, Penha De Franca, Anjuna Gymkhana, Sangolda Lightning, Football Club of Siolim, PVC Parra, Sodiem Siolim Sports Club and hosts Calangute Association.
