Cana Benaulim SA pip PY Nuvem

BENAULIM: Cana Benaulim Sporting Association defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 42nd Cana Benaulim Soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Tuesday.

BENAULIM: Cana Benaulim Sporting Association defeated Parish Youth Nuvem 6-5 via the tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of the 42nd Cana Benaulim Soccer organised by Cana-Benaulim Sporting Association, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Tuesday.
Nuvem striker’s Jerose Oliveira should have netted the first goal in the 23rd minute but his shot was palmed away to safety by the rival keeper Sugitesh Mandrekar. 
At the other end, Nicholas Rodrigues’ power-packed shot was denied by Nuvem cross bar. 
It was PY Nuvem’s Clyson Pereira who netted the first goal of the match in the 30th minute. Benaulim came from behind to level terms through Vellesly Afonso in the 69th minute.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Cana Benaulim Sporting Association proved to better shooters. Cana Benaulim Sporting Association will meet St Anthony SC, Marna-Siolim on August 3.
