MARGAO: Candolim Veterans entered into the final of the 2nd all Goa Clement Memorial Veterans Football Tournament, organised by Youth of Fatrade, defeated Doavedem Veterans 6-5 via the tie-breaker, at Varca Sports Club, on Friday.
Doavedem Veterans played an attacking game from the start and created many chances as Markus Carvalho and Mathew D’Costa marshalled the midfield. Post resumption both teams played a cautious game with ball being limited in the midfield.
With neither sides able to break the deadlock in the regulation time, the game was headed to tie-breaker, wherein Candolim Veterans proved to be the better shooters.
