SANQUELIM: Candolim Sports Club downed Goan Warriors 3-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the 2nd Late Musa Ali Aga Memorial football tournament organised by Eagles SC, at Sanquelim ground, on Wednesday.
In the first half, Goan Warriors led by two goals. Sahil Bugde netted the first goal in the 18th minute while Santil Mulgaokar doubled the lead in the 25th minute.
In the second half, Candolim SC tried their level best to scor goals but Candolim scored through Frazer Fernandes in the 66th minute to make it 1-2.
Rajat Chopdekar of Goan Warriors tried to block the shot of Frazier Fernandes but the ball landed a landed into his own net in the 68th minute to make it 2-2.
It was Yeshwant More who netted the match-winner and to make it 3-2 in favour of Candolim.
Yeshwant More of Candolim SC was awarded as the man-of-the-match.
