Carmona score on penalties

MARGAO: Carmona Sports Club rallied from behind to defeat A.A.De Majorda 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march into the final of all-Goa Chinchinim Villagers Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Church ground, Chinchinim, Sunday.

MARGAO: Carmona Sports Club rallied from behind to defeat  A.A.De Majorda 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march into the final of all-Goa Chinchinim Villagers Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers, at Church ground, Chinchinim, Sunday. 
Both the teams were tied 2-2 at full time.
Majorda played at a furious pace and enjoy the better share of exchanges and took the lead in the early moments of the game when Wellington Fernandes punished the rival goalkeeper with neat finish. Carmona took their foot off the pedal and sat back to defend.
Crossing over,   Majorda had a better share of exchanges and swarmed all over the rival territory. Wellington struck second time to give his team 2-0 cushion.
Stunned by the double blows, Carmona came back strongly late in the second half and launched barrage of attacks. Neil D’Cruz managed to reduce the margin when he blasted home from close range.
Majorda survived some tense moments when  Raju Cardozo restored parity for Carmona late in the second half.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Yuri Ferrao, Rovan Vaz and Mohammed Shaikh were on target for Carmona while Naveen Mendes and Neville Mendes scored for Majorda.
