PONDA: Top seeds Chaitanya Gaonkar, Aarth Karapurkar, Saras Powar, Shriya Patil, Rachel Pereira and Jennica Sequeira won their first round on Friday at the Parampujya Kalavati Aai All-Goa U-13 (open and girls) State chess selection tournament. The tournament is organised by Ponda Taluka Chess Association under auspices of Goa Chess Association started at Wagle High School, Mangeshi on Friday.
Total 7 rounds will be played. Hundred players are participating in the open category while 60 players are participating in the girls’ category.
