CURCHOREM: Fr. Agnel Polytechnic, Verna and Government Polytechnic, Bicholim while Government Polytechnic, Panjim and Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Curchorem clinched the title of chess and carrom in boys and girls category respectively in Inter-Diploma Sports (IDS) Goa state tournament held at Guardian Angel Institute hall, Curchorem, recently.
Government Polytechnic, Bicholim and Fr. Agnel Polytechnic, Verna were the runners-up in boys and girls category respectively in chess while Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Fr. Agnel Polyechnic, Verna were the runners-up in carrom in boys and girls tournament respectively.
Altogether seven colleges/polytechnics participated in the chess and carrom tournaments and prizes were also awarded to the individuals.
All Goa Carrom Association Vice-President Nilesh Jadhav, GCA Secretary Dinanath Pilarnekar, Treasurer Dilip Sawant, Sanjay Kavlekar chief arbiter for chess and Principal of HMCT Fr Joaquim Rebello were present on the occasion.
