MUMBAI: Bengaluru FC and IMG-Reliance have agreed a deal wherein Sunil Chhetri, Robin Singh and Thoi Singh will ply their trade in the second season of the Indian Super League (ISL) but following their stint would return to the southern side.
It is reliably learnt that the agreement was signed upon last week, a couple of days prior to Bengaluru FC’s crucial away fixture against Shillong Lajong.
The troika of Bengaluru FC players will be part of the first-ever auction in Indian football which is expected to have a total of 10-to-12 top Indian players.
According to the stipulated rules, every franchisee has to inform the organizers whether they intend to be a part of auction or not and if they do, they have to pick a minimum of one player at least.
ust be noted that last season Bengaluru FC refused to let any of their players be a part of the ISL’s inaugural edition. The club too were a partner alongside Sun Group for the Bengaluru franchise in the ISL before the organizers scrapped the Garden City from its list to include Chennai at the eleventh hour.
Keegan Pereira has also signed for the ISL but in the left back’s case, Bengaluru FC haven’t exercised the right to bring back to the club for next season.
It is believed Eugeneson Lyngdoh, who has been arguably the best Indian midfielder in the ongoing I-League season would also sign on the dotted line by the end of the week.
