Chinchinim face Wilred in finals

MARGAO: A 10-man CRC, Chinchinim rallied from behind to overcome St Rock's Youth Club, Calata-Majorda 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march into the final of all-Goa 32nd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Navelim Sporting Club, at Sinquetim ground, Navelim, Friday.

MARGAO: A 10-man CRC, Chinchinim rallied from behind to overcome St Rock’s Youth Club, Calata-Majorda 5-4 via the tie-breaker to march into the final of all-Goa 32nd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy inter-village football tournament, organized by Navelim Sporting Club, at Sinquetim ground, Navelim, Friday.
St Rock’s Youth Club were leading 1-0 at the breather.
St Rock dominated the opening session with their midfielders and forwards working in tandem to put the rival defenders under tremendous pressure. 
 Rock’s breakthrough came in the 28th minute when striker Wensley Pereira bulge the net from close range. Chinchinim made several attempts to equalize, which proved not fruit full.
The second half continued in same vein with St Rock controlling the midfield and their forwards fired couple of pot shots which either went wide or straight into the safe hands of rival goalkeeper.
Chinchinim suffered a blow when their attacking midfielder Domigos Rebello was red carded by referee for violent conduct midway in the second half. 
Short of man, St Rock could not use the numerical advantage but Chinchinim played with vigour and free flowing football. 
With clock ticking out, Chinchinim made a last ditch efforts and bore the fruit when Nickson Rebello beat the rival goalkeeper with neat finish off pass from Jorax Fernandes.
At the end of regulation time the score was 1-1. 
In the resultant penalty shoot out, Jorax Fernandes, Ryan Fernandes, Narcisco Gomes and Vicky Fernandes were on target for Chinchinim while Sadiq Ahmed, Remedious Baretto and Delvy Dias scored for St Rock.
Chinchinim will now meet Wilred Leisure Sports Club in the final on November 3.
