PANJIM: Chowgule SC will take on Geno SC and Manas Panjim Gymkhana will clash with Salgaocar CC in the semi-finals of Bandodkar Premier T20 tournament organised by Panjim Gymkhana on Wednesday.
The first of the semis action will see a face-off between Chowgule and Geno, both of whom tasted an identical one victory each in the group stages.

Chowgule captain Samar Dubhashi has displayed a fine touch with the bat and leads the run-getters chart with 108 runs to his name. Off-spinner Mohit Redkar is Chowgule’s highest wicket-taker so far with four wickets in his kitty.
While Chowgule have looked a settled outfit despite an erratic performance against Dempo CC in the league phase, Geno will be looking to iron out the major problems before they step out onto the field.
Geno will depend on Ishaan Gadekar and Eknath Kerkar to fire at the business end of the tournament as they have been quiet so far despite their big reputation. It was young Anand Tendulkar who played a stunning knock in the victory over Alcon MCC, and it proved crucial for their progress into the last-four stage.
Manas Panjim Gymkhana, who are the only team in the six-team tournament to have won both their matches, will be looking to maintain their perfect record when they take on an unpredictable Salgaocar CC in the second semi-final.
Manas Panjim Gymkhana do not boast of any batter in the top-5 of run-getters list , which means they have managed to get important contributions from multiple sources as they bat deep. However, Shubham Desai is leading the wicket-takers list with five scalps to his name while his team-mate Tanay Thyagarajan has taken four in two matches.
On the other hand, Salgaocar’s all-rounder Sujit Nayak with 107 runs in the tournament, is second while captain Deepraj Gaonkar (85) occupies fourth place in the leading batters’ list. It was Deepraj’s blistering counter-attack against Dempo CC, that turned the tide in Salgaocar’s favour in the second group match and paved their way into the last-four stage after having got off to a losing start against Chowgule.
