PANJIM: Churchill Bros FC – GFDC scored a brilliant 2-1 victory against Dempo SC in a U-15 Youth I-League match, at Ella ground, Old Goa, on Friday.
They led 1-0 at half time.
In a hard fought contest, Churchill-GFDC broke the deadlock in the 27th minute through Mevan Dias. After the interval, Churchill-GFDC swelled the lead with Aniket Chauhan scoring in the 47th minute.
Dempo hit back and managed to reduce the margin through Stewart De Melo in the 75th minute.
The Churchill-GFDC coach Xavier said, “The boys played very well. This is a good victory for Churchill Brothers the score would have been much more but we missed many open chances but we are happy with the result.”
