Dempo SC plying their trade in the Second Division I-league had no option than to give the walkover to their opponents Tuff Laxmi Prasad as the Goa Football Association failed to reschedule the fixture.
“We are playing our Second Division match on Sunday and its impossible to play today (Saturday). We had reminded GFA on December 23 regarding the Second Division fixture to be played on December 27 but they responded only on Saturday afternoon that the match couldn’t be postponed”, said Dempo SC General Secretary, Wilfred D’Souza,
It can be recalled that all the earlier Dempo SC’s Pro-League matches were rescheduled by GFA which were clashing with the Second Division matches, this is the first time such a incident has occurred.
The rival team Tuff Laxmi Prasad SC had reported at the venue but the fans had to return home disappointed.
Match Commissioner Gokuldas Nagvenkar informed that the outcome of tie will be decided by the GFA.
