Cobra Vaddo got the better of Saunta Vaddo 4-3 via the tie-breaker after both teams were involved in a goalless draw in the finals of  Gaura Vaddo inter-ward football tournament at Calangute Association ground, here on Monday.
With the legion of supporters, the teams began on a promising note  but their forwards failed to capitalise on the opportunities. 
Cobra Vaddo dominated the initial proceedings after the break while Saunta Vaddo came good in the later part.
Cobra Vaddo kept their nerves to romp home victorious 4-3 on penalties.  Ashley, Munna, Lester and Mauvin converted for Cobra Vaddo while Petu, Deep and Alber were on target for Saunta Vaddo.
Joseph Sequeira, ex-sarpanch and panch of Calangute was the chief guest. Alex Fernandes, president of Calangute Association was the guest of honour.  They alongwith special invitees Padmanabh Nair, president of Lions Club of Calangute and  Albert Fernandes, ex-sarpanch of Calangute gave away the prizes.
Cobra Vaddo won Gaura Vaddo Boys Cup and Rs 10,000 while Sunta Vaddo had to be content with the runners-up trophy and Rs 8,000. 
Following individual prizes were also given away: Man-of-the match (finals) Agnelo Mascarenhas (Saunta Vaddo). First goal of finals Ashley (Cobra Vaddo). Best player of the tournament  Menino (Saunta Vaddo). Best goalkeeper of finals Rohan (Cobra Vaddo).
Earlier, the teams were introduced to the guests by Simao of Gaura Vaddo Boys.
