PANJIM: A fine brace by Lesly helped Cortalim Gymkhana edge past Pax of Nagoa 2-3 in the Goa Football Associations U-14 League played at Nagoa ground, on Saturday.
The youngsters played an enthralling game wherein the Cortalim side found the net in the 8th minute through Lasly Xavier however Pax of Nagoa fought back and equalised in the 15th minute through Bloyton Estrocio and soon shot into the lead through Martin Rebello.
The resilient Cortalim side didn’t give up and managed to level terms in the 29th minute as Rohan Payeng shot past the keeper before Lesly scored the winner for Cortalim Gymkhana.
At Betalbatim ground, Salgaocar Football Club eased past Betalbatim Sports Club.
Jordan Borges scored a hat trick while Shabaz Shaikh, Gangaram Kharat and Sidney Lucas netted a goal each for the winners.
In another match at Siolim ground, Arpora Sports Club humbled Penha de France 8-0.
Suyash Kudalikar opened the floodgates for the Aropora side and then there was no stopping as Sohan Naroji scored the second before Suyash scored again to complete his brace.
Rushank Haldankar scored a hat-trick while Ray D’Souza and Sheldon Albuquerque also netted a goal each for the winners.
Elsewhere at Anjuna ground, Anjuna Gymkhana scored a narrow 2-1 win over St Anthonys SC Marna.
The Marna side scored the first goal early in the match through Hrishikesh Shirodkar however the Anjuna side re-grouped and netted twice through Arya Ponn and Delroy D’Cruz to take home all points.
Football Club Goa trounced Candolim Sports Club 6-0, at Candolim ground.
Slok Kane opened the scoring for FC Goa before Ryan Dias made it 2-0.
Slok netted yet another goal in the 36th minute while Shaviz Pathan scored a hat-trick to take the tally to 6-0.
In another match at Navelim ground, CRSC Navelim scored an easy 6-3 win over Wilred Leisure Sports Club.
Cyan Gonsalves opened the account for Wilred Leisure in the 7th minute before Nelroy doubled their lead soon after.
CRSC scored with Freldon Gomes netting five times and Moses Andrade also adding his name to the score sheet. Snedan Almeida also scored for Wilred Leisure.
Curtorim Gymkana and United Boys of Palolem played out a 1-1 draw at Curtorim ground.
