SANVORCOTTO-CUNCOLIM: CRC Chinichinim thrashed United Club of Tilamol 8-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the 10th Cuncolim Union inter-village Rolling Football tournament organised by Cuncolim Union, at Cuncolim ground, on Friday.
The floodgates opened for Chinchinim in the second minute itself when Aston Fernandes netted the first goal of the match with a power-packed shot.
Later in the eighth minute, Aston doubled the lead for Chinchinim. Diago Oliveira of Tilamol shot wide in the tenth minute.
In the second half, CRC Chinchinim further inflated the lead through Melito Rebello in the 40th minute.
Later, Tilamol’s Lester Fernandes brought down Myron Fernandes of Chinchinim inside the Tilamol penalty box and the referee awarded the penalty to Chinchinim which was converted by Kedron Fernandes to make it 4-0 in the 51st minute.
Nigel Fernandes made it 5-0 for Chinchinim in the 54th minute.
Kedron Fernandes scored once again in the 56th minute for Chinchinim and six minutes later he completed his hat-trick and made it 7-0 for Chinchinim.
Anston Fernandes made it 8-0 in the 76th minute.
CRC Chinchinim will now meet the winners of Cuncolim Union and United Club of Benaulim in the quarter-finals on October 17.
