RAIA: Cuncolim Union rout Candolim Sports Club 6 -1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 48th Chandor Seamen Cup organised by Chandor Club, at Chandor ground, on Monday.
The match began in right earnest right from the kick-off, with both Candolim Sports Club and Cuncolim Union dishing out excellent football.
The first half was evenly matched, though Candolim Sports Club scored first through Sanket Jotkar, in the 19th minute.
The second half was completely dominated by Cuncolim Union scoring at regular intervals. For Cuncolim, a Denvil Fernandes opened the scoring in the 37 th minute, followed immediately by Jollyton Fernandes in the 38th minute. Dailon Carvalho added to the tally in the 44th minute. Jollyton Fernandes of Cuncolim scored his second goal in the 45th minute which was followed by a brace by Wilson Fernandes in the 47th and 53rd minutes for Cuncolim.
