MARGAO: Cuncolim Union carved out a fluent 4-0 win over Guardian Angel Sports Club, Curchorem to romp into the quarter-finals of all Goa Curtorim Gymkhana Golden Jubilee Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Curtorim Gymkhana, at church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.
Cuncolim Union led 2-0 at the break. They started the game on an aggressive note and never allowed their opponents to strike the rhythm and swarmed all over the rival territory.
Cuncolim Union opened the account in the very 7th minute when striker Daulat Dessai bulge the net off a well measured pass from Joshua Rodrigues.
Spurred by the early success, Cuncolim Union raised the tempo when Treyson D’Costa unleashed a stiff grounder which crashed into the net.
Guardian Angel Sports Club today failed to function as a cohesive unit and jaded lot and were at up hill task and hardly troubled the rival goalkeeper.
The second half did not bring any relief to Curchorem lads as they attacked from both the flanks. Daulat rocked the rival citadel second time soon after resumption when he placed the ball to the far corner of the net.
Veteran Rosario Carvalho drove the last nail into the rival coffin in the dying minutes of play.
