MARGAO: St Anthony, Cotta rallied from behind to defeat Mount Mary 4-1 to storm into the quarter-finals of all-Goa Villa Marex Seamen Trophy football tournament organized by Villa Marex Boys, Chandor, at Cavorim ground, Chandor on Thursday.
Both the teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
St Anthony dominated the game but it was Mount Mary who took the lead in the 10th minute when Alvito Carvalho slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
However, their joy was short-lived as in the 20th minute Salmon neutralized the led with a stiff grounder to put his team on equal terms.
Post resumption, St Anthony enjoyed domination over their opponents, with their forwards and midfielders working in tandem to put the defence under tremendous pressure.
Welroy, who was in the thick of action pumped in two goals, to give his team 3-1 cushion.
Mount Mary, who struggled to contain the rival forwards, surrendered their challenge meekly without giving any fight. Agnelo drove the last nail into rival coffin in the dying minutes.
