MARGAO: Curtorim Gymkhana downed Raia Sporting Club 3-0 in a GFA First Division league at Panchayat ground, Raia, Saturday. Curtorim led 1-0 at the breather.
Curtorim Gymkhana who enjoyed the better of exchanges had to wait till the 24th minute when Sclachie Cardozo bulged the net off a pass from Vellington Rocha.
Earlier, Curtorim had a couple of scoring opportunities but striker Ashlon Oliveira, Milagres Fernandes frittered these away with only the Raia Sporting goalkeeper Sukhadev Patil at their mercy.
Raia struggled and registered only one noteworthy chance when Ashu Nathanai blasted wide from hand-shaking distance.
Curtorim stepped on the pedal in the second half and in the 65th minute Xavier Dias doubled the lead off Ashlon.
Raia had a golden chance to reduce the margin but Acher’s shot was fisted away by Curtorim goalkeeper Oswin Rodrigues and off the rebound Pawan Thakur shot wide.
Curtorim rounded off the tally when midfielder Jaison Pereira unleashed a right footer which crashed into the net eluding the Raia goalkeeper in the 74th minute.
