Curtorim Gym storm into semis

RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana secured a narrow solitary goal win against Sao Jose de Areal, propelling themselves into the semi-finals of the 48th Chandor Seamen Football tournament, organised by Chandor Club at the Chandor ground, on Sunday.

The all important goal came from Rhay Dias of Curtorim, who headed right into the nets hoodwinking the Sao de Areal keeper right in the 14th minute. Despite Sao Jose de Areal’s valiant efforts to level the score, including a couple of missed opportunities, Curtorim maintained their 1-0 lead as they headed into halftime.

The second half saw Curtorim’s players seizing control of the game, coming close to adding to their tally on at least three occasions. Sao Jose de Areal, refusing to give up, intensified their offensive efforts, desperately seeking an equalizer. However, Curtorim’s steadfast defense held firm, enduring the mounting pressure until the final whistle, ultimately securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
