PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana scored an easy 3-0 win over St. Anthony’s Club, Colva in the inaugural match of 15th London Trophy inter-village football tournament 2023 organised by Goa Velha Sports Club at Goa Velha ground, today. They led 1-0 at the break.
After a lackluster play, Milagres Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana saw his long range effort being easily saved by Colva goalkeeper Valerian D’Sa in the 27th minute. A minute later, St Anthony’s Samson Gomes let go a hot-blooded effort which was, however, brilliantly parried for a corner by Curtorim Gymkhana goalkeeper Floyd Hilario.

Curtorim Gymkhana surged ahead in the 32nd minute through Nazly Hilario.
In the second half, St. Anthony’s Club, Colva started well, but couldn’t beat the Curtorim Gymkhana defence.
It was in the 53rd minute that Curtorim Gymkhana nearly doubled their score but Aliston Fernandes’ try sailed over. Later, Sevin Luis’ effort was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Valerian.
Anthony Fernandes made it 2-0 in favour of Curtorim Gymkhana in the 56th minute when he shot home after an initial effort from Aliston Fernandes was partly saved by Valerian. Joy Hilario completed the rout for Curtorim Gymkhana.
Milagres Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana was presented the man-of the match award by John Viegas.
