PEDEM-MAPUSA: Damodar English HS, Gudi – Paroda defeated St Anthony’s HS, Guirim via sudden death to emerge State champs in the U-17 boys hockey tournament, organised by DSYA, at Peddem ground, recently.
Both the teams were tied at 3-3 in the normal time. Shoaib Mansoori scored a brace while Paresh Patil scored a goal for Damodar EHS. Prashant, Manish and Shrihari scored for St Anthony’s HS.
In the sudden death, Priyanshu Goud scored the all important goal. Earlier – Damodar EHS defeated St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim 7-0 to emerge champs of the South District tournament. The team was coached by Physical Education teacher Amit Desai.
